My passion for reaching out to the less privileged stems from my own childhood experiences. There were times when my siblings and I had nothing to eat. We often soaked garri with palm kernel just to survive. After my mother’s death, my father was on a mission for years, and we never saw him. We grew up like orphans, hustling in the forest to survive. We weeded farms, regardless of the weather, and spent time in the bushes picking periwinkles and harvesting water leaves to sell. That was how we managed to get by.
